Can You Nickname Traded Pokémon in Scarlet?

Totally! You can nickname traded Pokémon in Scarlet, BUT there's a catch. You can only nickname them if the original trainer didn't give them a nickname already. If the Pokémon already has a nickname, you're stuck with it unless you get the original trainer to change it before the trade.

Nope, once they've got a nickname, it's game over. You gotta love 'em with whatever quirky name they come with.

Yes, you can! I traded for a Pikachu without a nickname, and I got to name it ‘Sparky’. It seems like as long as it doesn't have a nickname already, you're good to go.
