Ranks in CS:GO don't reset, but they do play hide and seek if you take a break. Just win or draw one game to find your rank again. Easy peasy!

Actually, your CS:GO rank never really 'resets'. It's more like it takes a nap when you're not playing. If you haven't played in a while, you'll play a match to reveal it again. But it's not starting from scratch, just uncovering where you left off!
