Does a Kick or a Loss Affect You More in CS:GO?

Losses definitely hurt more in CS:GO. When you get kicked, it's all up in the air and kinda depends on how your team does without you. But a loss? That's a direct hit to your rank every single time, no questions asked. Just my two cents.

Getting kicked or facing a loss in CS:GO impacts your matchmaking rating (MMR) differently. If you're kicked, the impact on your MMR depends on the match's outcome. So, if your team ends up winning, you still get some benefits. However, a loss directly decreases your MMR, which can be more straightforwardly negative for your rank. So, while both can affect your MMR, losses are usually more straightforward in their impact.

I've been kicked and lost games, and honestly, losing feels worse. When you're kicked, yeah, it stings, but you can always blame it on a bad team or just bad luck. But when you lose, you gotta face the music that you and your team just didn't cut it.
