Nope, Pokemon Scarlet doesn't require an internet connection to enjoy the main storyline and explore the vast world of the Paldea region. You can catch, train, and battle Pokemon to your heart's content offline. However, if you're looking to trade or battle with friends online, or want to download updates and participate in online events, you'll need to connect to the internet.

Honestly, from my personal experience, playing Pokemon Scarlet without the internet hasn't stopped me from having a blast. Sure, trading and online battles are fun perks, but the core game is super rewarding on its own. Plus, it's nice to take a break from being online all the time.

FYI, internet is not a must-have for Pokemon Scarlet, but it does open up a lot of cool features. Just saying.
