How do you get Pokemon eggs in Pokemon Violet?

Getting Pokemon eggs in Pokemon Violet is pretty straightforward, but it does take a bit of patience. You need to leave two compatible Pokemon (usually of opposite genders and within the same Egg Group) at a Pokemon Nursery. There are a couple of these in the Paldea region. Give it some time, and when you come back, the staff there will have found an egg for you. Take it, walk around with it in your party, and it'll eventually hatch into a new Pokemon!

Actually, sometimes it's cooler to just catch Pokemon the old-fashioned way. Eggs are random - you never know what you'll get, which can be fun but also a bit of a letdown if you're aiming for something specific.
