Competitive CS:GO is all about strategy, skill, and team coordination. Teams of five play against each other, with one side playing as Terrorists trying to plant a bomb, and the other as Counter-Terrorists trying to stop them. A match consists of two halves, with each team playing 15 rounds on each side. The first team to win 16 rounds wins the match, unless it goes 15-15, which then leads to overtime. There's also a ranking system that matches you with players of similar skill levels, so the more you win, the higher your rank!
