Just use an Ability Capsule, easy peasy. But remember, no hidden abilities with these. For that, you need the pricier Ability Patch.

Honestly? It's not even worth it. Just catch another Pokemon with the ability you want. Much easier than grinding for items.

Changing a Pokemon's ability in Pokemon Violet (and Scarlet) is all about finding and using an item called an Ability Capsule. These can swap between a Pokemon's standard abilities. However, if you're looking to change to a hidden ability or from a hidden ability, you'll need an Ability Patch. Both items can be a bit of a grind to get, but they're totally worth it for optimizing your team. Happy hunting!
