How to Change Ability in Pokémon Scarlet
Best answer
PokeMasterJen
So you wanna shake things up with your Pokémon's abilities in Scarlet, huh? Well, you're gonna need an Ability Capsule or an Ability Patch for that. Snag an Ability Capsule to switch between a Pokémon's regular abilities. But if you're aiming for a Hidden Ability, you're gonna need the rarer Ability Patch. You can find these treasures through participating in Raids or by checking out the Battle Tower if you're feeling competitive. Just remember, choose wisely; once you change that ability, there's no going back with the same item!

Just use an Ability Patch, lol. They're for the Hidden Abilities, but good luck finding one without grinding!

Changing a Pokémon's ability in Pokémon Scarlet isn't as straightforward as pressing a button. What you're looking for is the Ability Capsule or the Ability Patch. The Ability Capsule can swap between a Pokémon's standard abilities, but it won't work for Hidden Abilities. For those, you need the Ability Patch, which is much harder to come by. You can find these items in the Delibird Presents shops scattered around Paldea, but they'll cost you a pretty penny in BP (Battle Points)!

Ability Capsule for the regular abilities, and if you're feeling extra, get an Ability Patch for the hidden ones. Just a heads up, neither are cheap, and the Patch is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Honestly, changing abilities isn't always worth it. Some Pokémon shine with their original abilities. Think twice before you swap!
