Dropping a butterfly knife in CS:GO is just like dropping any other weapon. Press G (by default) while you have it equipped. If you're looking to show off or just switch to a different weapon during a match, that's the way to do it. Remember, though, if you drop it, someone else can pick it up. So, make sure you're not gifting your prized butterfly knife to the enemy!

As someone who's accidentally gifted their butterfly knife to the opposition more times than I'd like to admit, I can confirm pressing G drops it. But, a word of advice: be careful where you drop it. You don't want to be that person watching an enemy strut around with your knife.
