How to get Shadows in Pokemon GO

Last updated
Ever wondered how to snag those elusive Shadow Pokemons in Pokemon GO? Well, you’re in luck because we’re about to dive into just that!
Let’s tackle the burning question: How do you get Shadow Pokemons in the world of Pokemon GO?
Team GO Rocket to the Rescue
To get Shadow Pokemons, you need to challenge and defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts. These baddies pop up in various locations, looking for trouble with their Shadow Pokemons in tow.
First, you’ll spot a Team GO Rocket Grunt at either a PokeStop or in a hot air balloon floating by. Challenge them to a battle, and upon winning, you’ll get a chance to rescue one of their Shadow Pokemons using a Poke Ball.
Catching and Purifying Shadow Pokemons
After defeating a Team GO Rocket Grunt, you’ll enter a special catch screen where the Shadow Pokemon you just battled will appear. Use your Poke Balls to catch it, but remember, these Pokemon are a bit harder to catch than your average Pokemon.
Once you’ve caught a Shadow Pokemon, you can choose to purify it. Purifying a Shadow Pokemon requires Stardust and Candies, but it boosts their stats and can even change their moves to something more powerful.
