How to Set Up a CS:GO Server

Honestly, just rent a server from a reputable provider. It saves you the headache of setting everything up yourself and dealing with potential network issues. Plus, it's not that expensive and you get professional support if something goes sideways.

Setting up a CS:GO server isn't as hard as it seems! First, you'll need a dedicated machine for the server. Download and install SteamCMD for your operating system. Then use it to install the CS:GO server files by running the appropriate SteamCMD commands. Remember to configure your server.cfg file with settings like map rotation and game modes. Finally, port forward your router to allow others to join your server. Voilà, you've got your very own CS:GO playing field!

Tried setting one up once, ended up just playing on someone else’s. If you ask me, unless you really want that control or plan to host large tournaments, joining existing servers might just be the way to go.
