Are +1/+1 counters separate from -1/-1 counters in MTG?

If a creature gets hit with a -1/-1 counter, it's basically the opposite of getting a +1/+1 boost. They don't stack in a friendly way. Think of them as archenemies; when they meet, they just annihilate each other.

Nope, +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters are as different as night and day in MTG. If a creature gets both, they basically cancel each other out. So, a creature with a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it ends up just being its normal self.

Absolutely separate! Imagine +1/+1 counters are spinach to Popeye, and -1/-1 counters are kryptonite to Superman. They do the exact opposite things to your creatures on the battlefield.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
