Generally, MTG judges aren't paid in traditional wages. They often receive compensation through other means like product (booster packs, exclusive cards, etc.) or store credit when working at local game stores or small events. For larger, more official events sponsored by Wizards of the Coast, there might be some form of payment, but it's not the standard salary you'd expect from a job. It's more about the love of the game and community.

Nope! Most are volunteers loving the game and helping out. They get perks, but don't expect an hourly wage.

I've been a judge at a few local tournaments, and it's mostly for the passion of MTG. We sometimes get store credit or booster packs, which is pretty neat. Don't expect to make a living, but it's a fun way to contribute to the MTG community and grow your collection!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
