Yep, Planeswalkers are definitely spells in Magic The Gathering! When you cast a Planeswalker, you're playing it as a spell from your hand, and just like other spells, it can be countered by your opponent. Once it resolves and hits the battlefield, it then becomes a permanent you can use to wreak havoc on your opponent's plans!

Short answer: Yes, they are spells. Long story short, if you can cast it, it's a spell.

Absolutely not the same! People saying Planeswalkers are just spells are simplifying too much. Sure, they're cast as spells, but once they're on the board, they're so much more. Planeswalkers come with abilities that can turn the tide of the game. They're a game-changer, not your average spell.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
