It's mostly Standard format because that's what keeps the meta fresh and interesting. Expanded is cool for casual play but if you're looking into competitive play, focus on Standard.

Pokemon TCG tournaments can actually be both! Standard format tournaments require you to use a deck of cards from the most recent sets, keeping the game fresh and exciting. Expanded format tournaments allow decks to include cards from a wider range of sets, giving players a larger pool of cards to build with. It really depends on the event you鈥檙e attending, so always check the rules before you build your deck!

Standard for the win! Expanded feels like the wild west, too chaotic for my taste.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
