Yeah, some PS3 models can play PS2 games, but not all. The early PS3s had the hardware for it, while later ones don't always work as well.

Only the original 60GB and 20GB models of the PS3 have hardware-based backward compatibility with almost all PS2 games. Later models may support some PS2 games through software emulation, but it's hit or miss.

Good luck finding a backward-compatible PS3. Those early models are rarer than a legendary Pok茅mon!

I鈥檝e got a 60GB launch model PS3 and it plays most of my PS2 collection. But keep in mind, finding these PS3s is like hunting unicorns!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
