From my experience, the funniest moments are in the non-canon movies! But if you want the core story, stick to Gintama: The Final.

Yes, some Gintama movies are canon! For example, Gintama: The Final is a canon continuation of the anime. However, others like Gintama: The Movie and Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter are more like recaps or alternative retellings of the TV series arcs.

Most of the Gintama movies are not canon. They are usually either retellings of the anime arcs or they include original content not found in the manga.

If you're a Gintama fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
