Actually, each leaderboard is independent. You can't mix your AI victories with your multiplayer bragging rights.

I've been playing for years, and I can confirm leaderboards are not linked. Each mode has its own leaderboard.

Nope, the leaderboards in Words with Friends are separate for each game mode! That means your solo scores don't affect your competitive leaderboard.
