Short answer: No. Long gone are the days of 1st Edition stamps on every set. Collectors now look for rare holographics and special editions rather than just a stamp.

Nope, not every Pokémon card set comes with 1st Edition stamps. The 1st Edition stamp was actually a thing in the earlier sets to denote the first print run of cards. This practice was more common in the beginning of the Pokémon TCG era, especially noticeable in the Base Set. However, as time went on and the game evolved, the practice of marking cards with a 1st Edition stamp became less frequent, and eventually, it was phased out. So, newer sets don't have these 1st Edition stamps.

Actually not all of them. 1st Edition stamps were used in the early days to hype up the rarity and collectibility. Now, it's more about the chase for rare and ultra-rare cards without specifically needing a '1st Edition' mark to make them special.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
