If you need to go wired, you'll need to buy a separate wired Xbox 360 controller. But, you can use a Play & Charge Kit to keep your wireless controller powered while you play.
Just get a wired controller instead. Your wireless one needs to stay free and untamed.
From my experience, a wireless Xbox 360 controller can't be used as a wired one. I tried every trick in the book, but still needed to get a wired version for wired play.
