Can Chromebook Run Steam?
WarningSquad路7 months agoTechnically, yes, a Chromebook can run Steam, but it's not as straightforward as on Windows or Mac. You'd have to use Linux (Beta) on your Chromebook, enable it, then install Steam through the Linux terminal. Keep in mind, performance and game compatibility will highly depend on your Chromebook's specs. Not all games will run smoothly, if at all, especially the more demanding ones.

I've actually done this! It's a bit of a process to get Linux and then Steam installed, but I managed to play some less demanding games like Stardew Valley. Just don't expect to run anything too graphics-intensive. It's cool, but your mileage may vary big time depending on your Chromebook.
Short answer? Yes, but it's not worth the hassle. Chromebooks aren't really built for gaming, and even if you get Steam running, your game selection and performance are gonna be super limited.
