Short answer: Yes, but it's not for the faint of heart. Better have your tech wizard hat on and a Chromebook that doesn’t wheeze at the sight of a game.

I did it on my Chromebook! Had to enable Linux and follow a guide online. It works, but don't expect to run Cyberpunk 2077. Great for less demanding games though!

Yep, you can download Steam on a Chromebook, but it's a bit of a techie process. You'll need to enable Linux (Beta) on your Chromebook and then install Steam through the Linux terminal. Google is your friend here, and there are plenty of step-by-step guides if you search for 'em. Just make sure your Chromebook meets the hardware requirements, or you might be staring at a loading screen longer than you're actually playing.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
