Actually, there's a bit of a workaround. You can't play Steam games directly on an Xbox, but you can stream them using Steam Link if you have a strong enough network. It's not perfect, but it's something! You'll need to stream from a PC that's running Steam to your Xbox using the Steam Link app or similar technology. Not exactly 'playing on Xbox,' but close enough for some!
