I've tried this myself and sad to report, PS3 discs won't run on a PS4. But take a look at the remastered versions available on PS4; they often come with cool upgrades!
Unfortunately, you can't use PS3 discs on a PS4. But don't worry, you can still play some PS3 games on PS4 through the PlayStation Now service!
