Yep, the original 'fat' PS3 models can play PS2 games! Just make sure it’s one of the early 20GB or 60GB versions.

Only the first models of the PS3 are backward compatible with PS2 games. Later versions ditched the feature to cut costs.

Nope, some PS3 models can’t play PS2 games at all. If you have a Slim or Super Slim model, you're outta luck.
