Unfortunately, the Xbox Series S controller isn't compatible with the Xbox 360. Microsoft didn't make the consoles cross-compatible that way.

Nope, Xbox Series S controllers don't work on Xbox 360. Time to dig out that old 360 controller!

Tried it myself, and the Series S controller won't pair with the Xbox 360. You'll need the original Xbox 360 controllers for that.
