Just tried it last weekend! My Xbox One ran my Xbox 360 games without a hitch. Make sure your game is on the compatibility list, though.

Totally! I play my old Xbox 360 favorites on my Xbox One all the time. Not every game is backward compatible, but Microsoft adds new ones regularly.
