Yep, you sure can backup Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Thanks to a July 2020 update, players now have the ability to backup their island's save data through Nintendo's cloud service, given you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Just go to the game's settings by hitting the '-' button on the title screen, and Tom Nook will walk you through the rest. It's a real lifesaver if you've invested hundreds of hours into your island and don't want to risk losing everything.

Short answer: Yes, but you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. So if you're serious about protecting your island paradise, it's worth considering getting that subscription!

Honestly, the cloud backup feature is a game changer. I accidentally dropped my Switch in the pool (don't ask), thought I lost my 500+ hour island for good, but I was able to restore everything thanks to the backup. Make sure you enable it!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
