Unfortunately, you can't directly connect a PS3 controller to a PS4. They don't play nice together natively!

You can use a special adapter like the CronusMax Plus, but it's more hassle than it's worth IMO. Just get a DS4.

Technically, yes, but it's a bit complicated and not officially supported. You're better off using a PS4 controller.
