Can you sacrifice a card without the ability in MTG?
DroppingSway路7 months agoNope, you need a card or ability that specifically states you can sacrifice something. MTG is all about following the exact wording on the cards, so if there isn't text granting permission or directing you to sacrifice, those cards are staying on the battlefield.

Hot take: trying to sacrifice a card without an ability telling you to is like trying to toast bread without a toaster. Sure, you can try other methods, but it鈥檚 not gonna end well (or be allowed) in MTG.
From personal experience, sacrificing cards willy-nilly in Magic The Gathering isn't a thing. You'll need either an ability on the card itself or another card's ability that allows for sacrificing. Learned this the hard way in my first tournament!
