I've tried everything and can confirm Xbox Series X just won’t work with DisplayPort; HDMI’s your only option.

Nope, the Xbox Series X only supports HDMI connections for video and audio output. You'll need an HDMI cable to connect your console to the display.

Sorry to break it to ya, but DisplayPort isn't a thing on the Xbox Series X. Stick with HDMI.
