Absolutely, you can use Alpha cards in your decks for Magic The Gathering tournaments! However, keep in mind that because these cards have slightly different corners compared to newer cards, you'll need to have them in opaque sleeves to prevent any possible identification during play. Also, check the specific tournament's format and rules since some older cards might be restricted or banned in certain formats.

For sure, you can use Alpha cards. I've used them in several tournaments without issue. Just sleeve 'em up properly and you're good to go. Plus, it's always a great conversation starter to bring some vintage flair to your game.

Hot take: While technically yes, you can use Alpha cards, just remember not everyone appreciates seeing a Black Lotus drop during a casual Friday Night Magic game. Know your audience!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
