Yep, you can use altered art MTG cards in tournaments, but there's a catch. The alterations can't mess with the card's thickness (making it identifiable from the back) or change important elements like the card name, mana cost, or copyright info. Essentially, the alterations gotta be on the down-low, more like a fresh coat of paint rather than a full remodeling job. Always best to check with the head judge at the tournament to make sure your masterpieces are cool to play.

Honestly, just stick to regular cards. Altered art cards are a hassle to get approved and might distract you from your game. Keep it simple, keep it winning.

Short answer: Yes, but only if the judge says it's okay. The artwork can't cover the card's essential deets or make it feel different from other cards. Always get a thumbs up from a judge first!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
