Can you use non-tournament legal cards in MTG?
Absolutely, you can use non-tournament legal cards in casual MTG games. Just make sure everyone playing agrees to it. For kitchen-table magic, anything goes as long as you're all having fun. Just don't bring those cards to a sanctioned event expecting to play them!

Nope, if it's not tournament legal, it's basically a coaster at competitive events. Save those cards for casual games with friends.
I've been playing MTG for years and let me tell you, some of the best games I've had were with decks packed with silver-bordered, hilarious cards from Un-sets. Just check with your playgroup first. House rules reign supreme in casual play!
