Nope, your faithful canine companion in Fallout 4, Dogmeat, cannot die. He can get injured in battles, but he'll just limp for a bit and then recover. It's like he's got a superhero healing factor minus the cool costume. So, don't worry about losing your dog buddy to the wasteland dangers!

Dogmeat's invincible, basically. He might play dead better than any dog you've met, but that's about it. After a skirmish, he's right back on his paws.

Absolutely not! Dogmeat is immortal in terms of the game mechanics. He can be incapacitated during fights, but give him a minute, and he'll be up wagging his tail again. This makes adventuring through the wasteland slightly less stressful, knowing your furry friend won't permanently leave your side.
