Honestly, it might just be your phone. Geometry Dash runs smooth on most devices. Try closing other apps or freeing up some storage.
Just delete it and reinstall, works every time for me. Make sure your game progress is backed up first though!
Mine wouldn't open after an iOS update. I had to update the game to fix it. Always keep your apps up to date!
