Nah, both SAO and Log Horizon came out around the same time (2012 for the SAO light novel and 2013 for Log Horizon's anime). It's more like they took different paths with the same MMORPG concept.

I don't think so. They both deal with being trapped in a game world, but SAO is more action-heavy while Log Horizon is all about strategy and politics.

As someone who's watched both series multiple times, I can say they're unique in their own ways. SAO focuses more on survival and romance, while Log Horizon dives into the intricacies of the game world's society and mechanics. Both are great, just different!

If you're a Log Horizon fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
