Nope, Tekken didn't invent wavedashing. That credit goes to Super Smash Bros. Melee! But Tekken players do use the term for advanced movement techniques.

Nah, wavedashing actually originated in the Super Smash Bros. series, specifically in Melee. Tekken has its own version of similar techniques though!

Wavedashing in Tekken? Absolutely not. Super Smash Bros. Melee did it first. Tekken's movement is unique, but it ain't the OG wavedash.

Speaking from experience, as a Tekken veteran, I can confirm wavedashing originated in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Tekken, however, has its own complex movement mechanics that some players might call 'wavedashing,' but it's a different beast!
