Nope, Xbox Live is still around! They just rebranded it as 'Xbox Network,' but it's the same service underneath.

Xbox Live isn't gone. It got a bit of a makeover and is now known as the 'Xbox Network.' Still the same great service!

Technically, they didn't 'remove' it. They rebranded Xbox Live to 'Xbox Network,' but all the features you love are still there.
