Do Counters Destroy Creatures in MTG?
AssemblingDelta路7 months agoNope, counters don't destroy creatures in Magic The Gathering. Think of counters as debuffs or nerfs; they can weaken a creature or negate abilities but don't outright destroy them. There are -1/-1 counters that can effectively 'kill' a creature if they reduce its toughness to zero, but that's not the same as destroying them!

Only in specific cases. If you're talking about -1/-1 counters and a creature's toughness hits zero because of them, then yes, the creature would be put into the graveyard. But if you mean counters like 'does not untap' or similar, then no, those don't destroy creatures.
Not really. Counters are more about changing the stats or abilities of creatures rather than destroying them. Destruction usually comes from specific spells or abilities explicitly stating 'destroy.'
