Totally, in Magic The Gathering, griffins are indeed considered to be part of the bird family! They often have the flying ability, just like many of their feathery friends. But, to be super accurate, griffins are usually classified under their own 'Griffin' creature type rather than 'Bird'. That said, their majestic wings and bird-like qualities definitely put them in the avian convo for me!

Nah, griffins aren't birds in MTG. They're their own thing - Griffins. It's like comparing a bicycle with a motorcycle; both have wheels but are totally different rides.

As someone who's been playing MTG since the '90s, I've seen a lot of griffins. They always stand out with their own unique 'Griffin' type. Though they share the skies with birds, they don't get lumped into the bird category. It's all about the creature type on the card, folks.
