Nah, you don't need an online membership to enjoy the core gameplay of Animal Crossing. You can fish, catch bugs, and make your island paradise without it. However, if you're looking to visit friends' islands or have them come to yours, then yes, you'll need that Nintendo Switch Online membership.

From personal experience, going without an online membership hasn't hindered my love for Animal Crossing. Sure, visiting friends is cool, but there's plenty to do on your own island that keeps the game super engaging.

Absolutely not! Solo play in Animal Crossing is a blast and doesn't require an online membership. But, if you've got friends you wanna trade fruit with or show off your island, that online membership is key!

Hot take: The real fun in Animal Crossing is terraforming your own island and living a peaceful solitary life. Who needs online play when you've got a whole island to yourself?

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
