Xenoverse 1 is fun, but Xenoverse 2 is definitely the upgraded experience. If you have time, it's cool to play the first, but not essential.
Xenoverse 1 is mostly for die-hard fans of Dragon Ball. If you just wanna have a good time, start with Xenoverse 2.
Honestly, you don't NEED to play Xenoverse 1. Xenoverse 2 will fill you in on the important stuff. Save your time for more battles in 2!
