Unfortunately, PSN cards are region-specific. If you buy one in the US, it won't work in the UK, for example.

I've tried using a PSN card from Japan in my US account, and it didn't work. Stick to the region your account is set to!

Nope, PSN cards are region-locked. You can only use them in the country they were purchased for.
