Do tap effects activate when the monster attacks in MTG?
WanderingFacet路7 months agoNope, tap effects don't activate just because a creature attacks. Tap abilities require you to manually tap the creature as part of the cost to use that ability. When a creature attacks, it gets tapped (unless it has vigilance), but this doesn't trigger any of its tap abilities!

Short answer: No. Attacking taps the creature but doesn't use any tap abilities.
Actually, attacking does NOT trigger tap abilities. Those abilities only kick in when you tap the creature specifically for that ability. So, if you're planning some strategic moves, keep that in mind!
