Honestly, it depends on the card. Some spells need a target to even be played, while others can be cast but do nothing if there's no valid target. Always read your cards carefully!

Absolutely! In Magic The Gathering, you gotta have a valid target for your card if it says 'target' on it. Think of it like needing a real address to send a letter -- no address, no mail delivery. Same deal here. If your spell card is aiming to do something to a creature or player, you need one in your sights for it to work. No target, no spell.

Nope. Just throw it out there. Who needs targets anyway? (Okay, don't actually listen to this; you definitely need a valid target for some cards.)

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
