Nope, you don't need to watch the original Fullmetal Alchemist before Brotherhood. Brotherhood is a more faithful adaptation of the manga and stands on its own just fine. Dive right in!
Actually, skip the original and go straight to Brotherhood. It鈥檚 closer to the manga and way more satisfying, IMHO.
I've watched both, and while the original has some unique storylines since it diverges from the manga halfway through, Brotherhood is the definitive version. No need to watch the original first!
