Depends on the game! Most multiplayer games on Xbox consoles do require an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play online. However, there are some exceptions. Free-to-play games like Fortnite and Apex Legends do not require a subscription to play online.

Yes, for most games. If you're into online multiplayer with friends, you'll need Xbox Live Gold. It's just how it is!

Nope, you don鈥檛 need Xbox Live for playing multiplayer on free games, but for other games, yes, you will.

I've been an Xbox user for years. For most of the time, I've needed Xbox Live to join multiplayer action, except for some free-to-play titles. It's worth it for the great online community and features.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
