Nah, backgrounds in Magic The Gathering are just part of the card art - you don't pay for them separately. When you buy a card, either through packs or individually, what you see is what you get. So, no extra charges for that cool art in the background!

Backgrounds? In MTG, that's just the card art. No separate fees. You buy the card, you get the art - end of story.

Actually, the concept of 'paying for backgrounds' in MTG doesn't really apply. MTG isn't like video games with DLCs for cosmetics. Each card, with its artwork, is a package deal. However, some special editions or alternate art cards can be pricier, not for the 'background' but for the rarity and collectibility.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
