Short answer: No. The color identity of a card in MTG is set in stone by its mana cost and any color symbols in its text box. Abilities that change color or add colors temporarily don't affect this.

Nope, an ability doesn't change a card's color identity in Magic The Gathering. Color identity is determined by the card's color and any color symbols in the card's cost and rules text (excluding reminder text). So, even if an ability gives a creature all colors until end of turn, the card鈥檚 color identity for deck building purposes remains what was printed on the card.

Absolutely not. Tried and tested. I've been playing Magic The Gathering for years and no matter what abilities I slap onto my creatures, their color identity stays the same. It's all about what's printed on the card, not the fancy tricks you do in-game.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
